The second unique feature of a Bushtec Trailer we’re going to cover is the Wheel and Tire Combination that comes standard will all Bushtec Trailers. The wheel is 16-in diameter, so it turns fewer RPMs than a typical motorcycle trailer tire, has sealed bearings, which will never need repacked, and the wheel and tire weight only 17 pounds – that’s half the weight of the wheel and tire used by our competitors. This reduces the unsprung rotational weight, which allows for a significant reduction in rotational resistance, and lowered inertial resistance under acceleration and braking.
What does all that boil down to? Simply put, a Bushtec Motorcycle Trailer will offer less resistance, and will operate more in tune with your normal bike performance. You won’t feel it back there, due to the Heim Joint (see video #1 in this series), and due to the Wheel and Tire Combination, you won’t notice your trailer for the wrong reasons. Performance is smooth and easy. We’re fond of saying, when you pull a Bushtec Motorcycle Trailer, you won’t even know it’s back there!

Posted by admin | June 20, 2011, 10:04 amLooking for assistance, traveller in Northern BC has uneven tire wear on Bushtec tires. He says worn more in inner side. Is it inadequate Pressure?
Posted by Jim Martin | June 27, 2011, 12:35 amCould be the tire pressure, yes, or it could be the air shock pressure. If it’s running low, it will wear on the inside of both tires. I would definitely check and increase if necessary.
You might also check the chassis suspension members to see if one might be broken. We have seen worn tires due to this as well.
Please call the customer care center at 888.231.2516 if you have any other questions or need immediate help.
Thanks – Brian
